Courtney has lived in the Austin – Round Rock area for most her life. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and her Nursing degree and Masters of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation, she received her first advanced practice job with Austin Heart in the Electrophysiology department in 2001. She also received a Post-Masters degree as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Texas Tech University in 2008. Courtney is board certified by the ANCC as both a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Health and as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She has over 15 years’ experience in cardiology as an Advanced Practitioner, including working in general cardiology, electrophysiology and CHF.

She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi International Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society, The Ex-Student’s Association of the University of Texas, and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
