Dr. Weeranun Bode

My goal is to provide personalized state-of-the art cardiac arrhythmia treatment to my patients to help them live better lives.

Weeranun Bode, MD, is a board-certified electrophysiologist who specializes in complex electrophysiology procedures. Dr. Bode earned her medical degree from the Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok, Thailand. Her passion to become a leader in the field of electrophysiology brought her to the US, where she continued her studies at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX and at the University of North Carolina, where she was involved in biomedical research and completed her internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship training.

Dr. Bode pursued additional fellowships in to further specialize in cardiac rhythm disorders. During her time as clinical and research fellow at Harvard Medical School, she completed an electrophysiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA, where she received the honor to serve a year as Chief Fellow of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service. She continued to specialize in complex ablations by completing an additional electrophysiology fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She has held faculty positions as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of North Carolina and at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her experience of training and working at top institutions such as University of North Carolina, Harvard (Massachusetts General Hospital), and University of Pennsylvania have helped her gain unique experience and insight allowing her to integrate cutting edge treatment strategies into the care of her patients and to perform advanced procedures at St. David’s hospital in Austin that are only done in very few select of centers in the United States. This allows her to help patients who may have been told elsewhere that they have no other options.

Her clinical interests include ablation of ventricular and supraventricular arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, and with special focus on complex arrhythmias such as ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, and atypical atrial flutter. She also has a special interest in pacemaker or defibrillator implantation/removal and left atrial appendage occlusion.

Dr. Bode is a member of the American College of Cardiology and of the Heart Rhythm Society. She has conducted research to improve care for cardiology patients and has authored and co-authored many publications in high-ranking medical journals. She has presented her work at large, national and international medical meetings. Dr. Bode has served as a reviewer for multiple medical journals.

Dr. Bode’s goal is to provide her patients with the best possible care to achieve excellent outcomes. She is genuinely interested in hearing each patient’s personal story to understand what their priorities are. Dr. Bode will then work with each patient on an individual treatment plan to help them to achieve their goals.
